Cartels in Mexico earn billions in profits as they traffic drugs throughout not only this country but several others. The cartels are comparable in size and reach to an international corporation; law enforcement’s best efforts find difficulty in keeping track of them. Many families in New Mexico have been affected by illicit drug use. The ABQ Journal began a 6-part investigative series on the criminal enterprise causing havoc across the country.
